About Me

Growing up in a mid-west small town, population 210, I began my theatrical career in the second grade playing none other than Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz and went on to perform in countless stage productions, theatrical troupes, and summer stock. Recognized by the state of Kansas as one of the most promising high school performers, I pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the esteemed California Institute of the Arts and graduated with one of the top theatrical companies in the United States. Cal-Arts opened doors to the fast paced industry where I worked on non-union theater, various films, and received extensive training in costume construction as a lead costumer for Universal Studios. Earning my Master's Degree in Theater Production and Design from Southern Oregon University has influenced my work as an artistic director and scenographer. In 2019, I was nominated for best high school theater director from the American High School Theater Festival and earned a director position for a show in Edinburgh, Scotland, at the 2019 Fringe Festival. Carl Printer and I co-wrote the play, Where are the Walls, a play based on the effects of cyber bullying on our youth. Walls ran for two weeks at the Central Theater in Edinburgh, was well received by the Fringe Festival and was acknowledged for its pertinent and poignant subject matter by the 2019 Fringe Festival Board.

As the current Theatrical Arts Director for Murrieta Valley High School in Murrieta, California, I have taught and directed thousands of student actors and designed costumes, sets and lights, for over 85 productions. The California Educational Theater Association ("CETA") selected our production Radium Girls as the best show for Southern California region 4 in 2017. In 2019, the Lucie Arnaz Awards selected our production of Sister Act as the top musical theater production of its region.
